As a media support professional, servicing a niche in the production industry, I tend to range across 30, 24, 16, Fps, Drop Frame, and fractional. This utility does it all. Don't really care about stylish - got work to do. And this App is right in the thick of things with me. My only suggestion would be to have the ability to "preset" the mode this App launches in. When sitting down to work and launching the the 4 different programs/emulators, etc needed to do this work, it's a gotta get this done effort. At times it's easy to miss which mode your actually in, while starting the day. When working with a set of visual issues that side of your brain isn't thinking numbers, just the results of sets. If you don't catch the initial setting error right away - you won't until a base number pops up that isn't supposed to be in the selected math base. Other than that, the App does all you'd expect it to do. Quite happy with it.

In 1998 Matthias Bürcher released a macro to calculate timecodes within Excel. Sadly, Excel 2011 was not supported, and worse, (Mountain) Lion wasn’t either. He finally released a new version in October 2012 which can be downloaded here.
Update for Linux users: as of June 14th 2011, Adobe has discontinued support for the Linux framework. This Timecode Calculator should still work with the last released version of Adobe Air for Linux.
